Construction Time:
An off-the-cuff estimate using much Tennessee windage comes in somewhere around a month total time (working 3-4 hours weeknights and 6-8 on weekends!) Though technically done, I want to add props and fix small details for both.

After watching the Hellsing anime, I knew that I had to make an Alucard costume--Mr. Dracula-spelled-backwards is the coolest anime vampire ever. I wasn't sure that Beth would want to go as Seras Victoria but was hoping she would--having coordinating costumes is neat, and Beth is a real vampire fan, but Seras does wear a rather short (but cute) skirt and a shirt with a figure of its own.

Beth agreed to go as Seras, and I also talked my sisters Erika and Brooke into cosplaying as two more vampires, Shido and Riho from NightWalker, Brooke using her drama training in playing a male role (Shido).

By far, the Hellsing costumes are my most elaborate and difficult project to date, requiring the sewing and construction of no fewer than eight different pieces of clothing at a skill level above anything I had done before. These being only my second hand-sewn costumes ever, I decided to start early (like five months early!) to give myself plenty of time to finish them.
